In what comes as a major development in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, rejected Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea stating that it cannot grant bail for cognizable offences.
The actress has been sent to 14-day judicial custody after being arrested by the NCB on Tuesday afternoon. Rhea was produced before the magistrate through video conferencing.
The actress who is the prime accused in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case was arrested by NCB after three days of questioning in connection to the alleged link to drug racket, wherein her name cropped up in many WhatsApp chats.
In the remand application of actor Rhea Chakraborty, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) stated that she is an active member of a drug syndicate and used to manage finance for drug procurement along with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The NCB is the third agency probing Sushant’s death case after the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
