Gurnam Bhullar’s beefed up look
Punjabi singer-actor recently shared his new, beefed up look with his fans on his social media handle.
Known for his songs like Diamond, Jhanjhran and many more, Gurnam is actually preparing for his role in the upcoming film Lekh for which he had to put on weight. Lekh will be directed by Jagdeep Sidhu.
In one of his posts, Gurnam shared, “New day new journey start #Lekh @jagdeepsidhu3 captan pf the ship”. Earlier also he shared a post where wrote target achieved @jagdeepsidhu3
Jageep and Gurnam are back with Lekh, the duo has worked together in Surkhi Bindi and Guddiyan Patole.

What’s in a name for Karan R Guliani
Famous Punjabi film director Karan R Guliani of Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh and Sarvann has changed his name to Paras. Sharing the news on his social media handle, he wrote, “As guided & suggested by my family Guru ji I am changing my name to Paras …I shall be known and call by this name now onwards.”
Paras is known for directing International fame Priyanka Chopra's production venture Sarvann starring Amrinder Gill, Ranjit Bawa, Simi Chahal, Amberdeep Singh under her home banner Purple Pebble Pictures. Apart from this, Karan also directed the romantic comedy Chandigarh Amritsar Ch

Rabb Da Radio 2 bags the title of Best Punjabi Feature Film
The 67th National Film Awards for the year 2019 honored the works of filmmakers, directors, singers, and people involved in the movie-making process.
In the category of Best Feature Film Punjabi, the Tarsem Jassar and Simi Chahal starrer Rabb Da Radio 2 won the award.
Released in 2019, the movie is the sequel to the 2017 ‘Rabb Da Radio’. The film revolves around emotions and relationships. It teaches a life lesson that no materialistic pleasure can ever be over and above the family bonds.
The movie also stars BN Sharma, Avtar Gill, Nirmal Rishi, Jagjeet Sandhu Harby Sanga, Gurpreet Bhang

Punjabi actress Simranpreet Kaur dies
Punjabi actress Simranpreet Kaur passed away on 18 March 2021 leaving her friends and family in grief. Fondly known as Simran among her friends, she was well-known in Punjabi theatre as well.
The reason for her death is said to be health complications due to diabetes and kidney failure. Her last rites were performed in Patiala.
Besides doing television series and theatre, Simranpreet Kaur has also been part of Punjabi movies like Singh Vs Kaur.

How cool is Daddy!
Punjabi film Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2 is one of the highly awaited movies. The film was supposed to hit the big screens in 2020, but owing to the pandemic, it got postponed. However, now the makers have released the date of the film, which will be hitting the theatres on August 27, 2021.
The film stars Jassie Gill, Ranjit Bawa, Jaswinder Bhalla, Tania, and Aarushi Sharma in the lead. The film is a sequel to 2013 released ‘Daddy Cool Munde Fool’. The prequel had Amrinder Gill and Harish Verma in the lead and now it’s Jassie Gill and Ranjit Bawa playing the main characters.

Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk starrer Qismat 2 is all set to hit theatres on Sep
Qismat 2 stars Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Tania in the lead roles.
Sharing the poster, Ammy Virk wrote - "Jinna soch na sake tu, ohna pyar karde aan" #Qismat2 releasing in cinemas on 24th Sept 2021”. Sargun too share the release date of the film with a caption- “Assi fer milange , kisse hor chatt te SHIVA TE BAANI ”.

Punjabi singer and actor Jassie Gill is back with another peppy dance track Oye Hoye Hoye. This time he is joined by Dhanashree Verma, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife, who is a popular dance influencer.
Oye Hoye Hoye is penned by Happy Raikoti and composed by Avvysra. The song is directed by Arvindr Khaira, and the music video is already created quite a buzz.

Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh and Shehnaaz Gill shared the poster for their upcoming Punjabi film Honsla Rakh.
Shehnaaz Gill shared a picture with Diljit, which broke the internet. The picture shows Shehnaaz dressed in a floral short dress and flaunting her baby bump while Diljit slays in a white suit.
Shehnaaz Gill wrote, "Excited???". The poster also revealed the release date of the film, which slotted for a October 15, 2021 release.
Diljit Dosanjh has turned into a producer with this film. The film also features Gippy Grewal's son Shinda Grewal in a lead role.

Paani Ch Madhaani gets a new release date
Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa starrer Punjabi film Paani Ch Madhaani was initially slated for a February 12 release, however, now the makers have decided to release the film on May 21 2021.
The entire cast and crew of the movie took to their social media handle to announce the new release date.
The film is directed by Vijay Kumar and written by Naresh Kathooria. The movie features Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa together on the silver screen almost after a decade.
