One youth recovering from stabbing in Newton: Surrey RCMP
Surrey RCMP is investigating an altercation between a group of youths where a youth was stabbed and is requesting anyone with information to contact police. On September 15, 2022 at 6:54 p.m., Surrey RCMP received the report of a stabbing at a park located in the 6400-block of 123 Street. Police attended the area and located a youth suffering from a stab wound. The 13-year old was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be released from hospital today. Surrey RCMP is informing the public of ongoing enforcement action targeting drug trafficking in the City Centre area.On August 30, 2022, Surrey RCMP Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a convenience store located in the 10200-block of City Parkway. Commercial vehicle enforcement op in Richmond results in 62 violations being issued
RCMP say a recent check of 33 commercial vehicles in Richmond ended with all but four being taken off the road for immediate repairs. The one-day operation took place Monday. In all, Mounties say 62 tickets were issued for Motor Vehicle Act infractions and other violations of Motor Vehicle Act Regulations and the Commercial Transport Act. The spot inspections were carried out by Richmond and Surrey R-C-M-P, Delta Police, Richmond bylaw officers and members of Surrey's commercial vehicle inspection unit.

Ex-Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh to join BJP on Monday
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will join the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday.
According to Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal, Amarinder Singh is also likely to merge his party PLC with the BJP in the national capital on September 19.

UCP government removes chief of Alberta Human Rights Commission
The man who was serving as the head of the Alberta Human Rights Commission is out of a job.
The United Conservative Party government has rescinded Collin May's appointment in a dispute stemming from a passage in a book review that has been criticized as Islamophobic.
Neither Justice Minister Tyler Shandro nor May has commented on the government's decision.

One man found with injuries in Cloverdale: Surrey RCMP
Surrey RCMP is investigating after a man was located with injuries outside a residence in the Cloverdale area. On September 15, 2022 at approximately 5:30 am police received a 911 call indicating a man was injured in the 5800 block of Angus Place. Upon attendance a 35-year-old male was located suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was provided life saving measures, and was transported to hospital with serious injuries, not considered to be life-threatening. Sharp-eyed store employees’ call to police results in return of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise in Richmond
On August 31, 2022, Richmond RCMP responded to the 7800 block of Templeton Station Rd for an alleged theft-in-progress at a store within a mall. The complainant, an employee from the store, advised employees were, from a safe distance, following a woman who had allegedly stolen multiple items.
