Five Safdarjung doctors debarred from duty after pregnant woman delivers baby outside hospital
The Union Health Ministry sought a report from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC ) Safdarjung hospital after a woman delivers a baby outside the hospital, and five doctors have been debarred from their duties.

Alberta : Pickup driver killed, 4 injured in highway crash
One person was died and four others were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in southern Alberta on Saturday afternoon.
R-C-M-P and fire crews were called to the collision at the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 529 near Vulcan, between Calgary and Lethbridge.
They say a pickup truck was travelling south when it was struck on the driver's side by an SUV.
The 55-year-old driver of the truck died at the scene, while a man, a woman and two children were taken by ground and air ambulance to hospital in Calgary.
A 33-year-old woman who was in the SUV was airlifted by a STARS Air Ambu

Top scientist asks 'not to panic' after two Monkeypox cases in India
As India reported the second case of Monkeypox in Kerala, a top scientist on Tuesday asked the citizens not to "panic" as the situation is "very much controlled" at this stage.
India reported the second confirmed Monkeypox case from Kannur district on Monday, a 31-year-old male has been infected with the virus.
India's first monkeypox case was also reported from Kerala.
Speaking to ANI, Dr Pragya Yadav, senior scientist, ICMR-National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, said, "The situation is very much controlled and nothing to panic about at this stage. We are in a very controlled situation."

CM Khattar announces Rs 1 crore compensation to kin of DSP killed by mining mafia
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Singh Bishnoi who was mowed down by a truck while probing illegal stone-mining in Nuh and said the culprits will not be spared.
He said strict action will be taken against the mining mafia in the state. "We will control the mining mafia in the state and the culprits will not be spared.
Khattar said police posts will be created near mining areas and the destination of mining vehicles and their equipment will also be fixed.

UK shatters its record for highest temperature
The U.K. weather office says Britain has shattered its record for highest temperature ever registered, with a provisional reading of 39.1 degree Celsius (102.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in Charlwood, England.
The highest temperature previously recorded in Britain was 38.7 C (101.7 F), a record set in 2019.
The high Tuesday came as the country sweltered in heat wave that also scorched mainland Europe for the past week.
Travel, health care and schools were disrupted in a country not prepared for such extremes.

Storm yesterday impacts number of power lines in Medicine Hat
The City of Medicine Hat says a severe storm yesterday impacted a number of power lines along the northwest side of the city, causing a power outage to approximately 76-hundred customers.
The southeastern Alberta city also says Echo Dale Park saw significant damage and has been closed to the public.
Alberta Emergency Alert initially called it a tornado, but later said it was a storm that caused damage to homes and vehicles.

Canada's Camryn Rogers creates history in World Athletics Chaimpionship
Canada's Camryn Rogers unleashed a hammer throw yesterday that soared straight into the history books. The 23 year old from Richmond, BC, threw 75.52 metres to win silver at the world track and field championships in Eugene, Oregon. It was not only Canada's first world medal in women's hammer, but the country's first women's podium finish in a field event. Pat King, an organizer of the "Freedom Convoy" that gridlocked downtown Ottawa for three weeks, granted bail
There were tears shed by some in an Ottawa courtroom as one of the so-called Freedom Convoy protest organizers was granted bail. Pat King, wearing a plaid shirt and his hair in a long braid, nodded as the judge's reasons were handed down. In the courtroom, supporters wearing T-shirts that said ``Free Pat King'' brought tissues to their eyes. King will have to leave Ottawa in 24 hours to return to Alberta, where he will be required to live with a surety. He's facing charges including mischief, intimidation, obstructing police and disobeying a court order.
