The problems of Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, who is in jail in the alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam, are not ending. After the Supreme Court, now Sisodia has also received a setback from the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi.
The court on Monday extended his judicial custody till July 22 in a corruption case related to the Excise policy scam. Sisodia was produced before the court through video conferencing after his judicial custody expired.

Arvind Kejriwal has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi liquor scam case, but he will remain in custody as his bail is pending in the related CBI case.

B.C. university gives pro-Palestinian protesters trespass notice, deadline to vacate
Vancouver Island University says it has issued a trespass notice to pro-Palestinian protesters, telling them to vacate their encampment on the campus in Nanaimo, B.C., by Monday.
The university says in a statement the notice was issued Thursday and if protesters aren't gone by 8 a.m. Monday the university will "take all legal steps necessary to remove them."
It says it will start legal action seeking an injunction against the camp and damages from protesters if the camp isn't dismantled by the deadline.

Six charged, 200 kg of drugs seized in three-year investigation: Vancouver police
Police in Vancouver, B.C., say a three-year investigation has led to the arrests of six people allegedly connected to a "sophisticated" organized crime group.
Police say the probe began in November 2021, focusing on a kilogram-level drug-trafficking operation working both domestically and internationally.
They say investigators have since seized more than 200 kilograms of illicit drugs as well as seven guns and $500,000 in cash and jewelry.
The first phase of the investigation led to the seizure of three guns and 88 kilograms of illicit drugs in December 2022, and of those drugs, police say 72

Wildfire season close to 10-year average heading into the peak summer months
Federal officials say rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl that has caused flash floods in the Maritimes is also lowering the risk of wildfires in eastern Canada.
So far, this wildfire season is less severe than the record-setting year in 2023.
But the risk is high in particular for B.C., Alberta, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
The number of active fires is growing, and there are now 284 wildfires in Canada, including 135 that are out of control.
Just shy of 1.3 million hectares have burned, which is close to the 10-year average for this time of year.

Conservatives would close supervised drug consumption sites: Poilievre
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says supervised consumption sites are just "drug dens" and that he will close them if his party forms the next government.
Poilievre visited a park near such a site in Montreal this morning and said he would close all locations near schools, playgrounds and "anywhere else that they endanger the public."
The first supervised injection site opened in Vancouver more than 20 years ago.
The sites are intended to try and prevent overdoses by allowing people to bring drugs to use under the observation of trained staff.
