Former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar, who had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in May this year, said on Friday that Ghulam Nabi Azad's exit from the party "is the beginning of the end" of Congress.

Complex-care services planned for housing in Nanaimo
Substance users with serious mental health issues in Nanaimo are expected to get access to so-called complex-care housing under an initiative offering services like addiction medicine, social workers and education on overdose prevention. A Vancouver Police investigation has led to charges in connection with a series of unprovoked attacks last week in the city’s Fairview neighbourhood. On August 24, 2022 at 11:15 p.m., the Surrey police detachment responded to a report of a man in medical distress inside his residence in the 18800-block of 76 Avenue, Surrey, BC. Officers and Emergency Health Services (EHS) attended the location and found the 47-year-old man having sustained life-threatening injuries. The Goa Police on Thursday registered a murder case against two persons for their alleged involvement in the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat. "Murder case registered against two persons in the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat," said Goa Police.

Calgary police arrested two men suspected of running a firearms production
Police in Calgary have arrested two men suspected of running a firearms production and trafficking operation.
Calgary officers have seized more than 12-hundred firearms _ including more than 300 believed to have been used in a crime _ so far this year.
Nine per cent of those guns were homemade or 3-D printed, which police say is a significant increase over last year.
Acting Staff Sgt. Ben Lawson says the 3-D guns are a growing trend and function the same as regular firearms.

The death toll from a Russian rocket attack on a train station and the surrounding area as Ukraine celebrated its Independence Day climbed to 25, including at least two children, Ukrainian authorities said Thursday.
