Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre today unveiled his party's nearly $100 billion election platform, highlighting major tax cuts and new economic measures.

Speaking at an event in Ontario, Poilievre announced a 15 per cent income tax cut for Canadians earning $57,000 a year, which he said would save the average working family approximately $2,000 annually.

As part of his economic plan, Poilievre also promised to allow Canadians who invest in domestic companies to contribute an additional $5,000 to their Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs).

He pledged to repeal the proposed capital gains tax increase and eliminate the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on new homes to make housing more affordable.

On defense, Poilievre committed to a significant boost in military spending by allocating $17 billion to the armed forces over the next four years.

Abbotsford police have turned over an investigation into a death at a local hotel to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. Police say officers were called to a report of suspicious circumstances at a hotel along Marshall Road near Clearbrook Road.
