Farmers staged a protest Tuesday during a rally addressed by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the Gurdaspur district town of Kahnuwan, with reports of a scuffle between protesters and police at the site.

According to local reports, the rally was organized by the Aam Aadmi Party as part of a public event in the area. As Mann arrived to address supporters, a group of farmers moved toward the rally venue to register their protest.

Police personnel deployed at the location stopped the farmers on the route leading to the event grounds. Protesters attempted to move past the barricades, which led to a confrontation with police officers.

Witnesses reported a heated exchange followed by a brief scuffle between farmers and police during the standoff. It was not immediately clear whether any injuries were reported.

Cranbrook RCMP investigate targeted shooting at residence on 3rd Avenue South

Cranbrook RCMP say they are investigating a shooting that targeted a residence Sunday night in the city’s downtown area.
