Baby killed, father hurt by vehicle in downtown Vancouver: police

An 11-month-old has been killed and the infant'sfather injured after they were hit by one of two vehicles thatcollided in downtown Vancouver. Police say the pedestrians were hit as an SUV and a sports carcollided last night. The condition of the 31-year-old man was not available. Const. Tania Visintin describes one of the two drivers as asuspect and says he was also injured and treated in hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Items belonging to missing Newfoundland man spark resumed search in B.C. park

The search has resumed for a Newfoundland and Labrador man missing in British Columbia since last Thanksgiving. RCMP in Princeton, B.C., say belongings believed to be those of Jordan Naterer were found July 4 in the provincial park where the 25 year old was hiking solo in October 2020. Police have not described the items but say in a statement they were found by a volunteer searcher in a remote area of Manning Provincial Park, 175 kilometres east of Vancouver. British Columbia's final deficit for the fiscal year has come in at $7.3 billion, $564 million lower than the original projected number in Budget 2024.
