First patient of Mpox virulent strain clade-1 found in India
First patient of Mpox virulent strain clade-1 has been found in India. This is the same strain that WHO has declared as a global health agency. According to the health department, the patient had returned to Kerala from the UAE last week.
The victim is 38 years old. On September 17, he self-quarantined after showing symptoms of Mpox. There are 32 laboratories for Mpox testing in India.
Notably, the Clade 1 variant of Mpox is a fast-spreading strain, first identified in the Democratic Republic of Congo, from where it spread to other countries.

Pope cancels his audiences due to slight illness days before a new trip
Pope Francis cancelled his audiences Monday because of a “slight flu-like state” just days before he is to embark on a trip to Belgium and Luxembourg, the Vatican said.
The move was described as a “precaution” in a statement from the Vatican.
Francis is due to visit Luxembourg on Thursday and then spend the rest of the week in Belgium, ending with a Mass in Brussels on Sunday.

Union for grain terminal workers in Metro Vancouver says strike to start Tuesday
The union representing grain workers at terminals in Metro Vancouver says it has served the employer with a 72-hour strike notice.
The Grain Workers Union Local 333 says in a notice posted to Facebook that it served the notice at 7 a.m. Saturday, with job action to start Tuesday.
It says the union's bargaining committee made the decision after the Vancouver Terminal Elevators Association "invested very little effort" during negotiations last week, and it's now up to the employer to present a proposal for a new contract.

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Waring has launched a sharp attack on the reshuffle of the cabinet by the Aam Aadmi Party. City of Calgary lifts all water restrictions
Calgary lifts water restrictions that lasted much of the summer following successful repairs to a major feeder main.
Mayor Jyoti Gondek told in a news conference Sunday morning that the Bearspaw South feeder main is now open and back in service for the Calgary region. Since late August, there has been a ban on any outdoor water use with potable supplies, and Calgarians have been urged to take shorter showers, skip toilet flushes and hold off on laundry and dishes. It was the second round of water rationing since the feeder main in northwest Calgary burst in early June.

CP News Alert: Missing 6-year-old B.C. girl found safe near Burns Lake
A 6-year-old girl who had been missing from her community in north-central British Columbia since Thursday has been found safe.
Resources from across the province were enlisted in the search to find the child who lives in a small community not far from Burns Lake.
RCMP say she was found on Sunday night around 6:00 p.m.
