Sidhu Moose Wala's father refutes rumours of contesting elections, says ‘no such intention’
Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's father Balkaur Singh Sidhu has refuted the rumours making rounds on social media regarding his contesting elections in the state stating that he has 'no intentions' to do the same.
In a 55-second video on the YouTube channel of his son on Saturday, the father was seen folding his hands and appealing to viewers to not pay heed to such rumours.
"I wanted to tell you that I am sad about what is going on social media. Various rumours are going on, do not believe that. I have lost my son recently and I have no intentions of contesting any election," he said.

Punjab: Anti-drug STF chief Harpreet Sidhu gets additional charge as ADGP, Prisons
The Punjab government on Friday gave additional charge of prisons to Harpreet Singh Sidhu, Additional Director General of Police.
Sidhu would now hold the additional charge of ADGP (Prisons) Sidhu, a 1992-batch IPS officer, is currently heading the anti-drug Special Task Force (STF).
The command of the anti-drug STF will remain with Sidhu, as per a notification issued by the Government of Punjab. Sidhu is set to replace ADGP Varinder Kumar, who has been posted as Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau.

A BJP leader from Punjab has approached the Supreme Court seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala by unidentified assailants in Punjab's Mansa.

Train derails in southern Germany, At least four dead, many injured
A train derailed in southern Germany on Friday and a number of people have been injured, police said.
The train derailed Friday lunchtime in the Burgrain area, near the Alpine resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Police spokesman Stefan Sonntag told news agency dpa that a number of people were injured. Police said on Twitter that four people were killed. They put the number of injured at about 30, 15 of whom were seriously injured and taken to hospitals.

Five coyotes attack man, dog in south Edmonton
People in Edmonton are being warned to be wary of aggressive coyotes after a man and his dog were attacked by five of the animals in a south Edmonton park.
The city says the dog-walker tried to scare the coyotes away but was not able to do so and both the dog and its owner were treated for minor injuries.

Alberta confirms province's first monkeypox case
Alberta's chief medical officer of health says the province has identified a case of monkeypox.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw says in a post on social media that an adult has tested positive for the rare disease that can cause fevers, aches and rashes.
She also says monkeypox does not spread easily between people.
Monkeypox typically spreads from close person-to-person contact through respiratory droplets, direct contact with skin lesions or bodily fluids, or indirect contact through contaminated clothing or linens.

Amid protests, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday visited the family of singer Sidhu Moose Wala at his residence in Mansa, days after the Punjabi singer was shot dead.

Centre provides Z category security to Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh
In view of the situation in Punjab, the Central Government has provided Z category security to Giani Harpreet Singh, the Jathedar of Akal Takht, said official sources.
Singh will be provided security by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
