Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has dissolved the core committee of Akali Dal. This core committee included many stalwart leaders of the Akali Dal, including leaders who had defected from the Akali Dal.
In this Prof. The names of Prem Singh Chandumajra and Bibi Jagir Kaur were prominently included. These rebels are demanding the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Sukhbir Badal took the decision to dissolve the core committee at a time when he has to appear regarding the apology given by the rebel faction to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

K'omoks First Nation signs draft treaty with B.C., federal governments
Officials with the K'omoks First Nation and the B.C. and federal governments have signed a draft treaty in a step toward the nation's self-governance.
K'omoks Chief Ken Price says it was an "exciting, memorable, and emotional day" for the community on Vancouver Island as it marked another step toward a treaty.
Price says in a statement that many K'omoks leaders have been part of negotiations over the last 30 years aiming to "build the best treaty possible."
He says treaties are "the highest form of reconciliation between nations."
The draft treaty must still be ratified by a vote among K'omoks

Sarabjit Singh Khalsa will form a new party together with Amritpal
Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, who won the free election from Faridkot in Punjab and became a Member of Parliament, will soon form a new party along with Member of Parliament from Khadur Sahib, Amritpal Singh. This party will be announced when Amritpal comes out of jail.

Trudeau and family head to British Columbia for vacation in unnamed location
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will head to British Columbia on Sunday, where he will be on vacation with his family until Aug. 1.
A government official says the Prime Minister's Office is not disclosing the specific location for security reasons.
Spokesman Mohammad Hussain says in an email that Trudeau travels on government aircraft as required, and will reimburse the equivalent of a commercial airline ticket for himself and his family.
Hussain says Trudeau will also pay for his family's stay.

Residents back home after evacuations in Williams Lake, B.C.
A fast-moving wildfire on the edge of the City of Williams Lake in British Columbia's central Interior triggered evacuations as water bombers swooped low over the community over the weekend.
But the director of the community's emergency operations centre says residents have since been told they can go home after the tactical evacuations conducted by Mounties on Sunday.
Rob Warnocksays in video posted to the city's website last night that those homes are subject to an evacuation alert, meaning residents must be ready to leave again quickly.

Farmers' Unions of Punjab announce tractor march on August 15
The farmers unions of Punjab have announced to hold a tractor march on August 15. Farmer leaders Sarwan Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that the agitation will continue for other farmers' demands, including the legalization of MSP.

An assailant entered an elderly care home on Monday in central Croatia and shot five people dead, Croatian media reports said.
