Canada based man charged in hit and run of Fauja Singh
In Punjab, in the case of Fauja Singh, known as the world's oldest runner, being hit by a speeding car, the police have arrested 26-year-old Amritpal Singh Dhillon, who went to Punjab from Canada, in a hit and run case. Dhillon actually belongs to Kartarpur and lives in Canada with his family.

Marathon runner Fauja Singh passed away at the age of 114
Punjabi Sikh runner Fauja Singh has passed away. He was a resident of Beas village in Jalandhar. He breathed his last at the age of 114. According to reports, Fauja Singh was outside his house in the evening when he was injured after being hit by a car. He was taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar, where he breathed his last.
Known as the world's oldest marathon runner, Fauja Singh started his marathon in the year 2000, when he was 92 years old. In 2011, he made headlines around the world by participating in the Toronto Marathon and made a name for himself as the oldest marathon runner.

Every Punjabi will get health insurance worth Rs 10 lakh: Chief Minister Mann
The Punjab Cabinet today approved a scheme to provide cashless treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh in hospitals to all families in the state. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said after the cabinet meeting that Punjab is becoming the first state to provide such a facility.

Bikram Singh Majithia sent to Nabha Jail after remand ends
A Mohali court in Punjab has sent Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia to New Nabha Jail till further hearing on July 19 after the Vigilance remand ends.
The Vigilance had arrested Majithia from his Amritsar residence on June 25 in a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and had kept him on 11-day remand.
