71 Delhi Police personnel sent to quarantine
As many as 71 Delhi Police personnel were on Wednesday directed to be in quarantine after they came in contact with a head constable who tested positive for COVID19, police said. The head constable was posted with Delhi Police Special Cell.Earlier, on April 21 three police personnel posted in the Nabi Karim area of the national capital tested positive for COVID-19. As per the Union Health Ministry, 2,248 people in Delhi have tested positive for COVID-19, including 47 deaths. 611 persons have been cured in the national capital. Andhra man dies after police assault, cop suspended
A 35 year old man died allegedly after he was assaulted by police for violating lockdown norms here in Guntur Rural on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Shaikh Mohammed Ghouse. As the incident triggered protest here, Andhra Pradesh Police suspended Sub-Inspector D Ramesh of Sattenapalli Town Police Station as he had stopped the Ghouse at the check post. According to police, the officer had stopped Shaikh Mohammed Ghouse at a checkpost but he collapsed and died. Man shot at after he coughs while playing Ludo in Greater Noida
Amid fears over the spread of COVID-19, a man was allegedly shot at for coughing while playing Ludo. The incident took place at Dayanagar village in Jarcha on Tuesday. COVID-19: 30 Army officers put under quarantine in Kolkata
As a precautionary measure, 30 Army officers have been put under quarantine at Kolkata as they came in contact with the Colonel-rank Army Doctor who has tested positive for COVID-19.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country climbed to 1397 on Tuesday after 146 new infections were reported in the past 24 hours across the country.
The death toll due to the COVID-19 rose to 35, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on TuesdayThere are 1,238 active coronavirus cases while 124 have been cured or discharged after treatment.

5 new COVID-19 cases in Chandigarh, these include NRI couple from Canada
The Union Territory of Chandigarh reported a few more cases of coronavirus on Monday, taking the total tally in the city to 13.
These include an NRI couple from Canada among others.
All of them have been admitted to the isolation ward at GMCH-32.
The country is under a 21-day lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus, which according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has infected a total of 1071 people so far.

India: Minor girl raped by friend, 9 others in Jharkhand's Dumka
A 16 year old girl was allegedly raped by 10 people including her friend to whom she reached out for help to drop her home amid lockdown on March 24.
"The girl was returning to her home from Dumka.
She called her friend and asked him to drop her home.
He (her friend) along with his friends raped her.

India: FIR against Puducherry MLA for violating lockdown orders
A FIR was registered against Congress MLA John Kumar for allegedly violating the lockdown orders issued by the Puducherry government to contain the spread of COVID-19. It has been alleged that Kumar was distributing bags containing vegetables to a gathering of more than 200 people near his residence in Nellithope. Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy had earlier announced that curfew will be imposed in the Union Territory till March 31.
