Rupee hits record low; closes 60 paise down at 77.50 against US dollar

The Indian rupee hit a record low of 77.58 against the US dollar on Monday amid unabated outflow of foreign funds after the Federal Reserve hiked policy interest rates last week. RBI Hikes Key Lending Rate To 4.40%, First Time In 4 Years

The RBI on Wednesday raised its key lending rate by 40 basis points to 4.40 per cent with immediate effect. The central bank also hiked the cash reserve ratio by 50 basis points.
