Navjot Singh Sidhu will not contest the Lok Sabha elections
Former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu will not contest the Lok Sabha elections. Reports say that he has clearly refused to become a candidate to the Congress party high command.
The Congress high command was said to be preparing to field Navjot Singh Sidhu against Praneet Kaur, wife of Captain Amarinder Singh and likely BJP candidate from Patiala, but Navjot Sidhu said he would not contest due to family reasons.
Also, according to the information, the party can give tickets to almost all the present Congress MPs of Punjab.

BJP released second list of 72 candidates for Lok Sabha elections, Khattar got ticket from Karnal
India's Narendra Modi-led ruling party BJP has released the second list of 72 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
In this, Manohar Lal Khattar, who left the post of Chief Minister in Haryana a few days ago, has been given a ticket from Karnal. Similarly, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivender Singh Rawat has been made a candidate from Haridwar.
BJP has announced names for 267 seats so far. At the same time, candidates from Punjab have not been announced in the second list.

Maharani Praneet Kaur will join BJP tomorrow
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's wife Maharani Praneet Kaur is joining the BJP tomorrow. Sources say that the BJP can announce him as a candidate from Patiala, from where he was MP earlier.
Are Captain Amarinder Singh joined the BJP in 2021 after the Congress removed him as Chief Minister, although Praneet Kaur did not resign from the Congress in the meantime and the party had to suspend her.

Amit Shah makes big statement regarding Citizenship Amendment Act
Home Minister Amit Shah's office has issued a statement regarding the CAA (Citizen Amendment Act) implemented in India to grant citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, in which the Home Ministry said that 18 crore Indian Muslims do not need to fear this law under any circumstances, it will not affect their citizenship and community.
The Home Ministry said that Indian Muslims have the same rights as others.

Congress can play in the name of Channi on the Jalandhar seat
Congress has approved the name of former Chief Minister Charanjit Channi to contest Lok Sabha elections from Jalandhar seat of Punjab.
If reports are to be believed, the Congress High Command may announce it soon.
The High Command has taken this decision in view of the SC vote bank and Channi's popularity.
It is to be noted that Jalandhar is a reserved Lok Sabha seat and the SC community has the highest number of votes here.
Reports say that Congress has finalized candidates for 7 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, although this could not be confirmed.

Partap Singh Bajwa raised the issue of CAA in the Vidhan Sabha
Senior leader of Punjab Congress Partap Singh Bajwa has challenged the Bhagwant Mann government of the state to clarify its stand on the Center's CAA (Citizen Amendment Act).
