Plane arranged to get Canadians out of Wuhan
Canada says it's planning to join other countries evacuating its citizens from the Chinese epicenter of the outbreak of a new virus.
Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Phillipe Champagne said Wednesday that Canada has secured a plane to evacuate Canadians from Wuhan, China, where the outbreak originated.
He says 160 Canadians have asked to be brought back to Canada from Wuhan. Logistics and authorization from China still need to be worked out.
The U.S. brought back 201 Americans from Wuhan who landed in California on Wednesday.

A Calgary man has been convicted of the brutal sexual assault of a woman he met on an internet dating website. Vasilios Georgopoulos was found guilty Tuesday for the 2017 attack that lasted 11 hours and saw the woman physically and sexually assaulted, burned and prevented from leaving a hotel room. Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne says eight Canadians in Wuhan have asked his government for help.
He says Canada knows of 167 citizens in the region of China that's at the epicentre of an outbreak of a new respiratory virus.
China has sharply restricted travel in and out of the province of about 60 million people in an effort to keep the illness from spreading.
Although the virus is new and scientists are still working on understanding it, most cases seem to be mild.

Second presumptive case of coronavirus: Health Minister says no reason to be alarmed
With a second presumptive case of the novel coronavirus in Canada, federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu says there is no reason for Canadians to be alarmed.
Hajdu told the House of Commons that government agencies are ready to respond in case the situation worsens.
A man in his 50s is now confirmed to have the virus.
Test results are also due for his wife.
She is quarantined at home in Toronto.
