Elections BC looks into vote complaint in riding that gave NDP majority
Elections BC says it is looking into a complaint of voting irregularities from a B.C. Conservative candidate in a riding narrowly won by the NDP, giving the government a one-seat majority in October’s provincial election.
It says the complaint was lodged by B.C. Conservative Honveer Singh Randhawa last Friday and it is “under review.”
Elections BC declared the NDP’s Garry Begg winner of the Surrey-Guildford riding by 22 votes over Randhawa after a judicial recount conducted by hand.

Ontario MP Chandra Arya is the second Liberal to announce he wants to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as leader of the Liberal party.
Arya posted on social media Wednesday morning that he wants to campaign on running a "small, more efficient government" and on offering "bold political decisions" to solve the country's problems.

California Wildfires Have Destroyed 2,000 Buildings So Far
A wildfire in the Los Angeles area of California has destroyed nearly 2,000 buildings and homes. The fire is so intense that it has forced evacuations from the homes of Hollywood stars and even Vice President Kamala Harris. So far, five people have died in the fire.

Sentencing hearing begins for men convicted of leading Coutts blockade
A sentencing hearing is set to start today for three men convicted of helping co-ordinate a blockade at the Canada-U.S. border at Coutts, Alta., in protest of COVID-19 rules and restrictions.
Alex Van Herk, Marco Van Huigenbos and Gerhard (George) Janzen were each found guilty in April of mischief over $5,000.
