Pakistani Organization Nominates Imran Khan for Nobel Peace Prize
A Pakistani organization, the Pakistan World Alliance, has nominated former Prime Minister Imran Khan for the Nobel Peace Prize. The group has called for the imprisoned leader to be recognized for his efforts in promoting human rights and democracy.
The Pakistan World Alliance was founded in December last year and is affiliated with the Norwegian political party Partiet Centrum. Each year, the Norwegian Nobel Committee receives hundreds of nominations before selecting the winner through an extensive eight-month process.

Wheat Procurement to Begin in Punjab from April 1
Wheat procurement in Punjab markets will commence tomorrow, April 1. The Punjab government has secured a cash credit limit of ₹28,000 crore for the process. As per government assurances, payments to farmers will be transferred to their accounts within 24 hours.
This year, the Central Government has set the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat at ₹2,425 per quintal. Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan governments have announced bonus payments of ₹175 per quintal and ₹150 per quintal, respectively, in addition to the MSP.

Liberals Stand by Candidate Paul Chiang Amid Controversy
The Liberals will not remove their Toronto-area candidate, Paul Chiang, over controversial comments about a Conservative candidate. Liberal Party Leader Mark Carney confirmed this decision this morning.
Carney stated that Chiang has served the community for a long time as a police officer and has apologized for his remarks. As a result, he will remain the Liberal candidate for the Markham–Unionville riding.

The Israeli military has issued sweeping evacuation orders covering most of the southern city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
The orders issued Monday come after Israel ended a ceasefire and renewed its air and ground war against Hamas earlier this month.

Alberta putting $17 million toward planning urgent care centres
The Alberta government says it will spend$17 million to plan nine new urgent care centres across the province. Health Minister Adriana LaGrange says the centres will besmaller than hospitals and designed to treat people with urgent but non-life-threatening medical needs, such as broken bones.
Alberta has six urgent care centres in operation and LaGrange says the new facilities would help reduce emergency room wait times in hospitals. She says the funding is earmarked for cities across the province, including Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Airdrie and Lethbridge.

Eight Associates of Amritpal Singh Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody
After the police remand of eight associates of MP Amritpal Singh from Khadoor Sahib, Punjab, ended today, the Ajnala court sent them to 14-day judicial custody until April 11.
The individuals sent to custody include Basant Singh, Bhagwant Singh Bajeke, Gurmeet Singh, Sarabjit Singh Kalsi, Gurinderpal Singh, Harjit Singh, Kulwant Singh, and Amanpreet Singh Amna. A case has been registered against all of them in connection with the attack on the Ajnala police station.

Vancouver police deploying big presence to 'maintain order' at anti-Tesla protests
Vancouver police say they are investigating 28 anti-Tesla incidents and will deploy more than 130 extra officers to "maintain order" at protests targeting the electric carmaker this weekend.
The force says in a statement that the incidents targeting Tesla are suspected to be politically motivated and all have occurred since Jan. 20.
It says 19 incidents were at dealerships and charging stations, including "hateful words and symbols spray-painted on buildings, eggs thrown at cars, and windshields smashed."
