VPD arrests alleged hit-and-run driver, accomplice
Vancouver Police have arrested the alleged driver in a hit-and-run collision that killed a 24-year-old pedestrian Sunday night in Kitsilano. Man charged in connection to multi-jurisdictional sexual assaults in Metro Vancouver
A 27 year old man, Hayden McCorriston, has been charged in connection to a series of sexual assaults, which occurred over a three-day period between March 31 and April 2, 2022 in Burnaby and Vancouver. The sexual assaults in Burnaby included five female victims in the Metrotown area who reported being groped by a stranger. Once elected, NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu to be first tribal President of India
BJP-led NDA on Tuesday announced former Governor of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu's name as a Presidential candidate for the upcoming elections.
On the other hand, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh today announced that former Minister of Finance and External Affairs Yashwant Sinha will be the common candidate of the Opposition parties for the Presidential election, which will take place on July 18, 2022, said a statement.
Murmu is the first major tribal female Presidential candidate in India's history.

RCMP investigating fatal shooting near Eckville in central Alberta
The RCMP is investigating a fatal shooting yesterday in central Alberta.
Police received a report of a shooting on a rural road west of Eckville.
A 46 year old man was found with life threatening injuries and later died in hospital.
Police say no one has been taken into custody.
On June 20, 2022, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP received a report of a shooting on Range Road 34 West of Eckville.
RCMP are asking the public for their assistance in this tragic event.

Global crude oil prices decline on fears of recession, weak demand outlook
International crude oil prices have come off their recent highs and declined on fears of the possibility of a recession in the global economy following aggressive monetary policy tightening by central banks and the likelihood of weak demand outlook for the commodity. Ongoing Covid-led lockdown in parts of China too led to a decline in the prices.

Tens of thousands of railway workers walked off the job in Britain on Tuesday, bringing the train network to a crawl in the country’s biggest transit strike for three decades.
About 40,000 cleaners, signalers, maintenance workers and station staff were holding a 24-hour strike, with two more planned for Thursday and Saturday.
