Vancouver Police have arrested the alleged driver in a hit-and-run collision that killed a 24-year-old pedestrian Sunday night in Kitsilano. A 27 year old man, Hayden McCorriston, has been charged in connection to a series of sexual assaults, which occurred over a three-day period between March 31 and April 2, 2022 in Burnaby and Vancouver. Vancouver Police are investigating an unprovoked machete attack in the Downtown Eastside – one of several violent and seemingly random incidents that kept VPD officers busy over the Father’s Day weekend. Vancouver police say a 24 year old man has been killed in a hit-and-run collision. A statement from police says the victim and a friend were crossing West Fourth Avenue in the Kitsilano neighbourhood at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. The man, whom police have not identified, was hit by a newer model grey sedan that they say appeared to be speeding. The driver did not stop and police say the victim died at the scene. The Federal Court has approved a class-action lawsuit on behalf of off-reserve Indigenous children taken from their families and placed in non-Indigenous care over nearly 30 years between 1992 and 2019.
