The Biden administration announced another $1 billion in new military aid for Ukraine on Monday, pledging what will be the biggest yet delivery of rockets, ammunition and other arms straight from Department of Defense stocks for Ukrainian forces. First grain ship from Ukraine arrives in Turkey

The first of the ships to leave Ukraine under a deal to unblock grain supplies and stave off a potential global food crisis arrived at its destination in Turkey on Monday. The Turkey-flagged Polarnet docked at Derince port in the Gulf of Izmit after setting off from Chornomorsk on Aug. 5 laden with 12,000 tons of corn. “This sends a message of hope to every family in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia: Ukraine won’t abandon you,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeted. “If Russia sticks to its obligations, the ‘grain corridor’ will keep maintaining global food security.”

Police captures inmate who Escape from Buffalo Sage Wellness House Edmonton

An inmate who escaped from a minimum-security healing lodge in Edmonton last summer has been captured. Correctional Service Canada says Monique Cardinal was apprehended by the Edmonton Police Service on Saturday night. The CSC says staff from the Buffalo Sage Wellness House observed Cardinal escape on July 8th, 2021, and an arrest warrant was issued. She was serving a sentence of three years, three months, 20 days for convictions that included breaking and entering, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. CSC and BSWH will investigate the circumstances of this incident.
