A resolution was unanimously passed in Vancouver yesterday at a ceremony organized by the BC Khalsa Darbar and the Guru Nanak Jahaz Heritage Society to restore the Komagata Maru to its original name as the Guru Nanak Jahaz. On the occasion of the 111th anniversary of this incident, Dr. Gurvinder Singh of the Guru Nanak Jahaz Heritage Society said that the name of this ship chartered by Baba Gurdit Singh was Guru Nanak Jahaz, therefore historians, media and politicians should use the word 'Guru Nanak Jahaz' for this ship. Indian-origin man arrested in US for plotting to kill wife

A man of Indian origin in the US, Darshan R. Soni, has been arrested for plotting to kill his wife. He has been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. This is a case from Hamilton County, Indiana. According to the report, 44-year-old Soni involved one of his employees, Ken Cox, in the conspiracy and allegedly according to this plan, the wife was first poisoned and when this conspiracy failed, a house burglary was planned on May 16, 2025, during which the murder was to be committed. Young man dead after being stabbed in a park: Abbotsford police

Police in Abbotsford, B.C. are investigating after a young man was killed in a stabbing at the city's Larch Park on Sunday night. Officers were called just after 7:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing at Larch Park, located in the 2600 block of Beck Road. Missing 3-year-old girl found in Montreal

A search has been launched for a missing 3-year-old girl in Montreal. The girl is reportedly alive and talking. She had been missing since Sunday. The Quebec Provincial Police held a press conference to update the search for the girl. Sergeant Eloise Cosset said it was not possible to provide any further information about the circumstances under which the girl was found and what had happened over the past day and a half. He said another press conference would be held later to provide more information on the case. He also thanked the community for their support in helping to find the girl.

According to the Health Department, 113 people have died due to Corona since January 2025. The highest number of deaths have occurred in Kerala and Maharashtra.
