The Anti-Evasion wing of Central Tax has busted a major racket by arresting one person, who was allegedly issuing fake invoices without actual supply of goods and thereafter availing of the input tax credit. In a statement on Monday, the Central Tax department said the arrested person has been identified as Daya Shankar Khushwah, who was having two different PAN cards, with which he had created 14 firms. One man missing after avalanche in northeastern B.C., Chetwynd RCMP

A man is missing after an avalanche in northeastern B.C. and RCMP say they won't be able to launch a search until snow conditions improve in the area. RCMP in Chetwynd say the man was with a group of snowmobilers in the area where the snow came down. Police say they had received a signal from an emergency beacon on Sunday. Only road leading to the Sasquatch Mountain briefly re-opened

The only road leading to the Sasquatch Mountain Resort near Mission has been briefly re-opened after it was blocked by a mudslide on Friday. A Transportation Ministry spokeswoman says emergency repairs had progressed enough to allow for a one-way opening of the road for a short time to allow those still stuck at the resort to drive out of the area. Environment Canada has issued snow alerts in several areas of British Columbia for Tuesday. Special weather statements cover eastern and inland Vancouver Island, the Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast and Metro Vancouver. The RCMP say a 14-year-old snowboarder who was missing near Kamloops, B.C., has been found ``safe and sound.''
