Alberta has surpassed the United States in confirmed measles cases, after 30 new cases were diagnosed over the weekend. The province has now seen 1,314 cases since the beginning of March. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 1,288 cases so far this year across 39 states. The outbreak of the highly contagious disease hasn't led to any deaths so far in Alberta. Three people, including two children, have died in the United States. The U.S. has also seen more hospitalizations, with the CDC reporting 162 people have been hospitalized compared to just over 100 Albertans.

Punjabi Sikh runner Fauja Singh has passed away. He was a resident of Beas village in Jalandhar. He breathed his last at the age of 114. According to reports, Fauja Singh was outside his house in the evening when he was injured after being hit by a car. He was taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar, where he breathed his last. Known as the world's oldest marathon runner, Fauja Singh started his marathon in the year 2000, when he was 92 years old. In 2011, he made headlines around the world by participating in the Toronto Marathon and made a name for himself as the oldest marathon runner.

On July 12, 2025, at approximately 6:35 pm, Langley RCMP responded to a woman in distress in the 20300 block of Fraser Highway, Langley. Upon arrival, front-line officers located a 33-year-old woman suffering from severe burns. She was immediately transported to a local area hospital for urgent medical treatment. President Donald Trump said Monday he would punish Russia with tariffs if there isn't a deal to end the war in Ukraine within 50 days. The Republican president made the announcement during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. “We’re going to be doing very severe tariffs if we don’t have a deal in 50 days," Trump said. A new poll by Leger has found that Quebec residents are the happiest in Canada. The web survey of nearly 40,000 Canadians found that Quebecers rated their happiness at an average of 72.4 out of 100, which is well above the national average. New Brunswick followed Quebec with an average of 70.2, while Manitoba and Prince Edward Island finished at the bottom of the list. Mississauga, Ont. had the highest happiness rating of the 10 largest cities, while Toronto was lowest. Montreal finished second in the category. The survey found that 49 per cent of respondents said their happiness level was un
