Trump Threatens to Use Economic Force to Make Canada Part of the U.S.
Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to use economic force to make Canada part of the United States. Trump told reporters that he has no intention of using military force against Canada; instead, he would use economic pressure.
Trump argued that the move would be beneficial for national security, stating that the issue with Canada is the billions of dollars the U.S. spends to protect it.
Trump made these comments during a press conference in Florida. He also suggested he might use military force to acquire the Panama Canal and Greenland.

Delhi Assembly Elections: Voting on February 5, Results on February 8
The Delhi Assembly elections have been announced. Voting will take place on February 5 for the 70 assembly seats, with results to be declared on February 8. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar shared this information on Tuesday.
It is worth noting that in the 2020 elections, the Aam Aadmi Party secured 62 seats with 53.57% of the vote, while the BJP received 38.51% of the vote, winning 8 seats.
Meanwhile, the Congress garnered 4.26% of the vote but failed to win any seats. In the 2015 elections, too, the Congress did not secure a single seat.

Canada Post returns to full service for domestic parcels; letters still delayed
Canada Post says it has reinstated on-time service guarantees and returned to full service levels for domestic parcels after a strike brought deliveries to a halt last year.
However, it says Canadians should continue to expect delivery delays of several days beyond its service standard for transaction mail such as letters, bills and statements.
It also says it is continuing to work through the accumulated volume of international mail and that customers should expect a delivery delay of several days for incoming international items.

HMPV Increases Concern in India, More Cases Reported
There have been 8 reported cases of HMPV, a virus similar to the coronavirus, in India. On Tuesday, two cases were reported in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were found to be infected.
Both children had persistent cold and fever. When tested at a private lab, both tested positive for HMPV.
However, neither required hospitalization. After receiving treatment, their condition is now under control.

Ontario launches border-strengthening operation as Trump tariff threat looms
The Ontario government says it has launched an operation intended to beef up security along the border with the United States.
In a news release, Premier Doug Ford says Operation Deterrence will "crack down on illegal border crossings and illegal guns and drugs."

Strong earthquake kills at least 95 people in western China
A strong earthquake shook a mountainous region in western China near Nepal on Tuesday morning, killing at least ninety five people, state media said.
