Israeli strike on northern Gaza kills 19, Palestinian medics say
Palestinian medical officials say an Israeli strike on a home where displaced people were sheltering in the northern Gaza Strip has killed at least 19 people.
That’s according to the Kamal Adwan Hospital, which received the casualties on Wednesday after the overnight strike in the town of Beit Lahiya.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military. Israel has been waging a renewed offensive against Hamas militants in northern Gaza since early October.
Hospital records show that a family of eight were among those killed, including four children, their parents and two grandparents.

Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has criticized the Punjab Police's handling of the Sukhbir Badal shooting incident. Majithia accused the police of attempting to shield Narayan Singh Chaura, the alleged attacker.

Amritpal's Aide Granted Parole for Mother's Last Rites
Amritpal Singh's associate, Basant Singh, who was lodged in Dibrugarh jail, has been brought to Punjab on parole. Basant Singh is from Daulatpura village in Moga district, Punjab. His mother recently passed away.
The last rites of Basant Singh's mother were performed in the village under tight security. Authorities did not permit him to meet anyone during his visit. Basant Singh performed the last rites himself. Reports suggest that his mother passed away due to depression.

Premiers to meet with Trudeau Wednesday about trade and tariffs, Ford says
Ontario Premier Doug Ford says the country's premiers are meeting virtually Wednesday with the prime minister to discuss the threat of U.S. tariffs on Canadian imports.

Canadians May Get Relief on Interest Rates

B.C. selects nine wind power projects to boost energy supply by eight per cent a year
British Columbia has given the green light to nine wind energy projects that will boost the province's hydro-electric grid by eight per cent a year, enough to power 500,000 homes.
Premier David Eby says BC Hydro, a Crown utility, has selected the projects following a strong response to its call for new renewable power-generation operations.
He says the development and construction will generate between $5 billion and $6 billion in private spending on the projects, four of which will be located in the B.C. Interior, four in the North and one on Vancouver Island.
