The City of Surrey is encouraging residents to take part in one of the various Remembrance Day ceremonies taking place across the city this Friday. Services will be held at Veteran’s Square at 17610 56A Avenue; at Surrey Centre Cemetery at 16671 Old McLellan Road; at the Whalley Cenotaph at 13633 Grosvenor Road and at the Royal Canadian Legion Crescent Branch at 2643 128th Street. NWPD officers arrest suspect after convenience store worker assaulted with weapon

On November 6th at approximately 8:00am, New Westminster Police Department patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from a convenience store worker in the 400 block of Columbia Street who has just been assaulted by an unknown man. On November 9, 2022, the City of Port Moody unveiled a new heritage storyboard in Rocky Point Park commemorating the 1914 Komagata Maru incident and the efforts of the local Sikh community to reduce the suffering of passengers forced to stay aboard the ship. The Komagata Maru was the name of a steamship carrying 376 prospective immigrants, mostly Sikhs from the Punjab region of India. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has won a seat in the legislature by defeating four opponents in the Brooks-Medicine Hat byelection. The unofficial results show N-D-P candidate Gwendoline Dirk was second while Barry Morishita of the Alberta Party was third. Suspect wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested after firearm falls out of pocket

On October 30th at approximately 12:20 pm, New Westminster Police Department officers were dispatched to Howes Street and Ewen Avenue for a report of a man with a handgun. R-C-M-P in Kamloops say a search warrant executed yesterday at a home in the Aberdeen neighbourhood led to the seizure of more than a dozen firearms. They say officers also seized a ``significant amount'' of suspected drugs, stolen property and vehicles from the home, which is located on Sifton Avenue.
