Golden Globes ratings rebound to 9.4 million viewers
Reviews have been poor for Sunday's 81st Golden Globes, but the telecast pulled in an average of 9.4 million viewers, up about 50% from last year, according to CBS.
The ceremony had the benefit of an NFL lead-in, an especially starry gathering that drew Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Timothee Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio and more.
The night's biggest winner, Oppenheimer,' was also a huge ticket-seller, with nearly $1 billion (about $3 per person in the US) in box office.

Music Maestro Rashid Khan dies at 55
Ustad Rashid Khan who was known for his soulful renditions died at Kolkatta hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.
The Padma Bhushan awardee was 55 years old. West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee said that Ustad Rashid Khan will be given a gun salute and State honours before his rites that will be performed on January 10.
Ustad Rashid Khan belonged to Rampur- Sahaswan gharana, which is closely related to Gwalior gharana. Known for his mellifluous voice, Rashid Khan received numerous accolades and awards including Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.
