Ranjit Bawa angry over Janhvi Kapoor’s 'Good Luck Jerry', says ‘Ek vaar fir Punjab nu Nasha wala dikhaya gya’
In the recent past many Pollywood actors such as Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk have in the past expressed their disapproval of how Bollywood movies stereotype Punjab, its culture and Punjabis. Joining them is singer-actor Ranjit Singh who is pretty upset over the portrayal of Punjab in Janhvi Kapoor’s latest movie ‘good Luck Jerry’.Taking to Twitter, Ranjit Bawa has expressed his anger toward the movie. He says ‘Good Luck Jerry’ once again shows Punjab as a state of drug addicts. Tagging the CM of Punjab in the tweet, the actor also asked if Punjab will only be featured as a drug state.

Jaani leaves India after receiving death threats
Report has it that Punjabi lyricist Jaani and his manager are continuously receiving death threats post Sidhu Moosewala's murder. Jaani has penned a letter to Punjab CM Bhagwant Maan seeking protection and expressing his mental pressure. Three Punjabi films to have Australian premiere at IFFM 2022
Punjabi films are celebrated for their wholesome entertainment and music.
Recently, a few Punjabi films, which are high on content, have been selected for a special screening at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022. The list includes Jaggi, Adh Chanani Raat and Raavi.
Jaggi, directed by Anmol Sidhu and starring Ramnish Chaudhary, Harmandeep Singh, Gaurav Jasuja, Aks Mehraj and Harmeet Jassi.
Adh Chanani Raat (Crescent Night) is directed by Gurvinder Singh.
The cast includes SS Dhiman, Veera Gill, Samuel John, Dharminder Kaur and Jatinder Mauhar.

Sidhu Moosewala honored with Dada Saheb Phalke award
Recently Punjabi artist Sidhu Moosewala, (posthumously) has been awarded with Dada Saheb Phalke Award. The award was received by Afsana Khan and her husband Saajz. The duo went on to the stage, accepted the highly acclaimed award on the behalf of Sidhu Moosewala.
