Officers from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have identified the woman murdered at a retail store in the City of Mississauga.
On Monday, September 19, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police were called to a retail store in the area of Mavis Road and Britannia Road West in Mississauga for a stabbing in progress. Police attended and located a woman suffering from apparent stab wounds. Chandanpreet Kaur, 22, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The victim’s husband of three years, Charanjeet Singh, 26, from Mississauga, was arrested at the scene. He was transported to a trauma centre where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. He was charged with First Degree Murder and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
