Metro Vancouver Transit Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a reported sexual assault in the parking area next to Scott Road SkyTrain Station in North Surrey.
Police say the incident occurred on January 21 shortly after 4:00 p.m. at the Scott Road Park and Ride Lot A, near 110 Avenue and 126A Street. A woman was walking from the SkyTrain station to her vehicle, which was parked in a far corner of the lot, when she was approached from behind and assaulted. Investigators say the woman fought back and the suspect fled in the direction of the station.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid to late twenties, tall with a medium build, light coloured eyes and a partial brown beard. He was reportedly wearing a blue zip up hoodie with the hood pulled up, dark blue jeans and a black toque.
Transit Police say investigators have pursued all available leads and are now appealing to witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage from the Park and Ride between 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to come forward. The station and surrounding lot are among the busiest transit hubs serving commuters from Surrey and neighbouring communities, making police hopeful that someone may have seen suspicious activity.
