In Punjab, the Shiromani Akali Dal will implement the 'one family-one ticket' policy in the Lok Sabha elections this time, which means that only one member of the Badal family will contest the Lok Sabha elections.

In 2019, Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Bathinda and Sukhbir Badal from Ferozepur contested the election and both were winners, but this time only one of them will contest the Lok Sabha elections.

This policy will be discussed in the core committee meeting of Akali Dal to be held on Friday. It is being discussed that Harsimrat Kaur will contest from Bathinda seat this time too. If Akali Dal implements this policy, it will be a big step against familyism in politics.
