The Shiromani Akali Dal formed a new core committee of 23 members

The Shiromani Akali Dal has formed a new core committee of 23 members under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal. It includes many leaders including SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami and Bikram Singh Majithia.

Sukhbir Singh Badal had dissolved the old core committee on July 23 after the rebellion emerged in the party. Now the new core committee under the leadership of Sukhbir Badal has decided to hold a three-day delegate meeting at Sri Anandpur Sahib in the first week of November.

This decision has been taken when the leader of the rebel faction Prof. Many other leaders including Prem Singh Chandumajra and former president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Bibi Jagir Kaur have spoken of convening a meeting to elect a new president and have asked Badal to leave the post of party president.
