The resignation of MLA Angural-Chabbewal is not accepted yet, a decision will be taken after investigation

The resignations of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sheetal Angural from Jalandhar and Congress MLA Rajkumar Chabewal from Hoshiarpur have not yet been accepted by the Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
Angural left AAP and joined BJP, while Dr. Raj Kumar left Congress and joined AAP. If the resignations of the two MLAs are accepted, along with the Lok Sabha elections, by-elections will also be held on these two vacant seats in the Vidhan Sabha.
According to the law, the Election Commission has to be notified for by-elections on vacant seats in the Vidhan Sabha.
