The Punjab Police has claimed to solve the case of ex-Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore and giving death threats. Ropar police has arrested an accused in this case.

The accused has been identified as Deepak Sri Sant Cable, a resident of Maharashtra, who is an ex-student of hotel management. The accused has worked as a chef in many hotels.

The accused told during police interrogation that he had heard the name of gangster Goldie Brar a lot, in such a situation he called CM Charanjit Singh Channi by taking his name.
