The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has presented a budget of more than two lakh crores for 2024 in the Vidhan Sabha today.

This is the first time that the budget of the state has crossed two lakh crore rupees. However, the government has also proposed to raise loans worth Rs 38,331 crore during the fiscal year 2024-25.

The opposition has termed the budget as a failure. Punjab Congress President Raja Waring while talking to reporters said that today's budget was a completely fictitious budget, in which there was no such thing for the people, nor for any person, nor for Punjab. Can say that Finance Minister Punjab has given this gift to the people of Punjab.

It is to be noted that according to the new budget estimate, by March 2025, the debt of Punjab will increase to more than 3.50 lakh crore rupees.
