The date of the by-election in Jalandhar West constituency of Punjab has been announced. The Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Sibin C, has informed that the voting in the reserved seat of Jalandhar West will be held on July 10. Sheetal Angural's resignation from this seat was accepted by the Speaker when Angural wanted to withdraw his resignation after the end of the Lok Sabha elections.

However, Sheetal Angural, who was an Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Jalandhar West constituency, vented her anger on the Bhagwant Mann government as soon as the by-elections were announced.

Angural said that by-elections are to be held in five seats of Punjab, but the AAP government is conducting by-elections only in Jalandhar West seat and the resignation of MLAs from any other seat has not been accepted. He said that this shows what policies the Aam Aadmi Party government is working on.
