A 17-year-old youth is in critical condition after a stabbing aboard a moving MiWay bus in Mississauga early Tuesday, according to Peel Regional Police.
Police said officers responded at about 2 a.m. to the area of Hurontario Street and Watline Drive in the city's Britannia neighbourhood. When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to a Toronto trauma centre, where police said the condition later became critical.
Peel Regional Police said an 18-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident. She has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and obstructing a peace officer. The charges have not been tested in court.
Investigators said the stabbing occurred on a MiWay bus. Police have not released the identities of the accused or the victim and have not disclosed a possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
