Surrey Police Service is asking the public for help to locate 84-year-old Won Kil Kim, who has been missing since early Sunday morning. Police say he was last seen around 7 a.m. on November 16 in the 10300 block of 155A Street in northeast Surrey.
Family members told officers Kim had planned to travel to a church in Burnaby before heading to the Grouse Mountain area for a hike, but investigators say it is not clear whether he reached either location. Police note that he may have been carrying two hiking poles, though his clothing is unknown.
Kim is described as a Korean man, about five foot five and 140 pounds. Officers from Surrey Police Service and the RCMP’s Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit say they are concerned for his wellbeing due to his age and the uncertainty around his movements.
Police are urging residents across Surrey, Burnaby and North Vancouver to check around their properties, trails or security footage for any sign of Kim. Anyone who may have seen him is asked to contact Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, quoting file number 2025-63477 (SU).
