Surrey: pedestrian hit and killed on Highway 17

A pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing Highway 17 in Surrey last evening.

Surrey RCMP say it happened at about 6 p.m. and the unidentified victim died at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and police say that person is co-operating.

Police haven't said if the victim was in a marked crosswalk on the usually busy route and investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
