While Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar is missing from important party meetings, there is news that he has approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah stating the need to change the approach of the BJP and the Center towards the issues of the state.
He also said that emotional issues related to Punjabis should be resolved on priority basis. According to reports, Jakhar expressed his intention not to continue as the state president. He also asked the party leadership that whoever is the new president of Punjab BJP should be given the right to take decisions.
It is said that Jakhar's advice was ignored during the elections and he was also left out during the discussion about the ministerial candidate from Punjab.
