Shooting followed by a car chase and vehicle fire in Surrey

RCMP are investigating after an apparent shooting followed by a car chase and vehicle fire last night in the Newton neighbourhood of Surrey.

Mounties say a silver SUV was chasing another vehicle described as a newer-model black sedan.

They say in a release that shots are believed to have been fired from the sedan and that the silver SUV was found engulfed in flames soon afterwards.

Anyone with dashcam footage from the incident in the area of 68th Avenue between 151st and 152nd streets around 10:30 p-m is being asked to contact police.
