Shiromani Akali Dal has called a parliamentary board meeting for January 20. The meeting will be chaired by acting president Balwinder Singh Bhunder. This information was shared by senior party leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema through a post on the social media platform X. He stated that the meeting will take place at 1 PM.

Following the meeting, a membership drive will be launched with a target of enrolling 25 lakh members. Additionally, a new president will be elected on March 1.

Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Seizure

A loaded handgun has been seized and an investigation is underway after a traffic stop by Surrey Police Service’s Gang Crime Unit (SPS GCU) officers late last night. Public Warning: In-person bank card scam

Richmond RCMP is once again warning the public of a reoccurring scam where fraudsters are picking up bank cards in person to defraud victims. This scam is resurfacing and continuing with more sophisticated tactics. There have been 11 reported cases in Richmond since April 2025, with an approximate loss of $53,000.
