SGPC executive body turns down Dhami’s resignation

Dhami had resigned from his post on Monday.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s executive body, which met here on Friday, did not accept the resignation of SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami and urged him to reconsider his decision.
In this matter, a five-member committee of the members of the Interim Committee has been formed, which will soon meet Advocate Dhami and urge him to withdraw his resignation. After the meeting, the members of the Interim Committee met Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Shiromani Committee Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh said that in the meeting with Giani Raghbir Singh, the jurisdiction of the committee was discussed.
Dhami had resigned from his post on Monday. His resignation had come days after Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh strongly condemned the dismissal of services of Giani Harpreet Singh as the jathedar of Damdama Sahib by SGPC.
