SGPC demands ban on film ‘Emergency’

Letters demanding a ban on the film by the Shiromani Committee have also been sent to the Chief Secretary of Punjab, DGP and Deputy Commissioners of the districts, apart from the Chief Minister’s Office.

Amid protests from Sikh organizations in Punjab, Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ is releasing tomorrow, January 17. Expressing its protest regarding this film, the Shiromani Committee had registered an objection with the Punjab Chief Secretary on November 14, 2024.

At the same time, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami today sent a letter to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann demanding an immediate ban on this film in the state. He said that if the film is released in Punjab, the Shiromani Committee will strongly oppose it.

Letters demanding a ban on the film by the Shiromani Committee have also been sent to the Chief Secretary of Punjab, DGP and Deputy Commissioners of the districts, apart from the Chief Minister’s Office.
