Environment Canada says heat warnings cover the inner south coast, most of the southern Interior and inland sections of the north and central coast, bringing sweltering temperatures for another day.
The weather office is calling for the mercury to reach about 40 degrees in the Interior, the mid-30s on the south coast and around 30 degrees along the north and central coasts before rain and cooler conditions arrive tomorrow.
Several temperature records for the day were set yesterday in BC as the hot weather settled in.
Those include a high of 37 degrees in Pemberton, breaking the old mark of 36.1 degrees that had stood since 1908.
