Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shots-fired incident in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood. Police were called at around 10:34 a.m. on August 12 after a homeowner near 76 Avenue and 124 Street reported finding what appeared to be gunshot damage to an outbuilding on the property. Frontline officers arrived minutes later and confirmed that the exterior damage had been caused by gunfire. No one was injured in the incident. Vancouver Island RCMP have arrested three people following a drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected drugs and more than $100,000 in cash. According to Port McNeill RCMP, officers searched several homes and vehicles in the city as part of the investigation. During the searches, police seized approximately one kilogram of suspected cocaine, a significant quantity of ketamine and other drugs.
