A search continues for more possible victims after the body of a woman was recovered from a landslide near Lillooet that was triggered by record rainfall.

The RCMP say the total number of people and vehicles unaccounted for after the landslide across Highway 99 has not yet been confirmed but they have received reports of two other missing people.

Rescue crews are also searching for potentially trapped vehicles or people in the debris field of two slides on Highway 7 near Agassiz.

Helicopters evacuated about 300 people to safety yesterday after they were trapped in vehicles caught between the two slides.

Canada's two largest railways expect it will take another few days to clear track outages in southern BC that are hampering the movement of goods to and from the country's largest port in Vancouver.

CN and CP rail say service on their main lines has been cut by torrential rain, rock and mud slides, as well as at least one partial derailment on CP owned tracks.

CN says its tracks have been out of service since Sunday.

The landslides caused by heavy rain come less than five months after rail lines were idled by wildfires that delayed both exports and imports.
