Former Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain received a major blow from the Rouse Avenue District Court on Tuesday. The court has rejected Jain's bail plea.
Satyendra Jain had sought bail in a money laundering case related to the Enforcement Directorate. Satyendra Jain said that he should be granted bail on the basis of ill health.
The ED says that Jain created fake companies and transacted money on paper through them. ED arrested Satyendra Jain in this case two years ago.
Delhi Lt. Governor VK Saxena had recently allowed investigating agencies to proceed under the Anti-Corruption Act in another case related to alleged corruption against Satyendra Jain.
This matter is related to the installation of CCTV in the capital. In this case, Jain is accused of imposing a fine of Rs 16 crore on a company. Jain had demanded a bribe of Rs 6 crore in exchange for waiving the fine.
